MOT History

Check the the MOT history of any vehicle that’s had an MOT test in England, Scotland or Wales since 2005.

The MOT history check includes the following information:

  • if the vehicle passed or failed the MOT
  • the mileage recorded when it was tested
  • where each MOT test was done
  • what parts failed at each MOT test, and if any parts had minor problems
  • when its MOT is due

MOT History Check

To start an MOT history check, you’ll need the following information: 

You need the vehicle’s number plate (registration number).

To see the location of the MOT test, you’ll need the 11-digit number from the vehicle’s log book (V5C).

You’ll be able to view the results for the most recent MOT test as soon as the MOT centre has recorded the test result.
